About this bettles field gift
Bettles Field is a small place, a landing strip and a handful of buildings in Alaska's interior, so the people connected to it tend to be pilots, trail workers, and folks who came up for the seasons and stayed. A shirt with the name on it is a way of saying you know where they're from or where they've been. Bettles is remote enough that a local story tends to outlast any souvenir, so a gift that carries the name lands well with someone who spent time there. For a pilot or a seasonal worker, a hoodie or a mug is the everyday reminder of a place most people have never heard of. Add the year they were there, or the role they worked, and the shirt becomes their own record of the place. Pick a color that suits the season you associate with them, since winter and summer look very different up there.
