About this grand chenier gift
Grand Chenier is a small unincorporated community in Cameron Parish, in the marshy southwest corner of Louisiana, and the people who grew up there or still call it home tend to hold onto it hard. A shirt with the town name is how they claim it when they're away: at a family reunion in another state, on a trip back for Mardi Gras or a holiday, or just on a Saturday in the yard. Because it's a small place, the people who know it will recognize the name immediately, which makes the gift feel personal in a way a generic souvenir never does. Pair the town with a second line, a family name, a year they graduated, or the word home, and it becomes their own. A hoodie suits the cooler months along the coast, and a mug works for the transplant who misses the bayou mornings.
