About this meddybemps gift
Meddybemps is a small town in Washington County, Maine, the kind of place where most people have to explain where it is. The residents who grew up there, or moved back for the quiet and the water, tend to hold onto the name hard, and a shirt with Meddybemps on it is how they claim it on a trip out of state. Because it's a small place, the local pride runs deep and the joke is always on the outsiders who can't spell it. A tee or hoodie is a good gift for someone who left and still counts themselves from there, or for a family member who keeps a summer place nearby. A mug suits the person who wants a bit of home on the kitchen counter. Add a year, a street or a nickname on the second line if you want it to read as personal rather than a souvenir.
