About this melrose park gift
Melrose Park is a village in the western suburbs of Chicago, and the people who call it home tend to say so with some pride. A shirt with the name on it is how they claim the place wherever they end up, whether that's a dorm across the country or a Chicago Bears game they're watching from the couch. It's a suburb, so a lot of the people who grew up there have a connection that runs through school, family and the neighborhood they walked around as kids. Melrose Park shirts and hoodies work well for the family that moved away, and a mug suits the one who still lives there and wants a little hometown pride in the morning. You can add a second line for a high school class year, a street, or a family name, and that's usually what turns a town shirt into one that feels like theirs. Keep the design simple and let the place name carry it.
