About this napakiak gift
Napakiak is a small village on the Kuskokwim River in southwest Alaska, and the people who live there know exactly where they're from. A gift with the village name on it is a way of saying you know that too. Plenty of people who grew up there have moved away for school or work, and a shirt or mug can carry the name back to them without any explanation. Because the place is small, the details that matter are personal ones: the family name, the year they left, the class they graduated with. A second line for any of those turns a simple town shirt into something only that person would have. The hoodies hold up through Alaska winters, and a mug works for the desk of someone who misses home.
