About this sweetland gift
Sweetland is a small name, and the people who carry it tend to take it personally. Someone from Sweetland usually knows exactly which road they grew up on and which diner everyone's uncle still talks about. A shirt that says Sweetland is how they stake a claim to a place that doesn't always show up on the map, whether they live there now or left years ago and still say it first when someone asks where they're from. For the one who moved away, a mug with the town name is a daily reminder of home. For the one who stayed, a hoodie for the cold months is the kind of gift they'll wear until it falls apart. Make it theirs by adding the year they were born, the year they moved back, or the street they grew up on in the second line, so the shirt says more than the town name alone.
