About this wilkinsburg gift
Wilkinsburg is a borough just east of Pittsburgh, and people who grew up there tend to carry it with them, whether they still live nearby or ended up across the country. A shirt with the borough name is how they claim it, at a family cookout, a homecoming weekend or a reunion with old classmates who know exactly where the name comes from. It's a gift that lands best for someone who gets homesick for a specific place rather than a big city. Add a second line with the year they moved away, the school they attended or the street they lived on, and the design becomes a memory instead of a souvenir. For the transplant who still says they're from Wilkinsburg, a mug on the kitchen counter is a daily reminder of home.
