About this hokkaido gift
A Hokkaido is a dog people tend to fall for hard, and the owners who love them talk about the same things: the fox-like face, the thick double coat that handles real winters, and a loyalty that can make them a little particular about strangers. Hokkaido is also the name of Japan's northernmost main island, which gives owners a second story to tell. A shirt with the breed name is the obvious gift for someone whose whole weekend revolves around walks, grooming and trying to keep the dog from stealing their breakfast. Adding a dog's name on the second line makes it personal in a way a generic breed tee never is. For someone who has just adopted one, a mug with the dog's name is the kind of small thing they'll keep on the counter for years. Dark shirts tend to suit the Hokkaido's typical red, sesame and black-and-white coats, and a hoodie is the right pick for the owner who walks in every season.
