About this alaunt gift
The Alaunt is an ancient type of working dog, a big, powerful hound-and-mastiff sort of animal that's been gone for centuries as a pure breed. That makes the people who love the name a particular crowd: history readers, medieval fans, and owners of mastiff-type dogs who like the idea that their big lug has a famous ancestor. A gift for one of them works best when it nods to that. A dark tee or hoodie suits the heavy, old-world feel of the word. A mug does well for the person who reads about dog history over coffee. Because the breed itself isn't around today, you can make the shirt about their own dog instead. Type Alaunt as the main word, then add the dog's name, a nickname or a year on the second line where the design has one. It reads like an inside joke for dog people, and the right person will love explaining it.
