About this maumee gift
Maumee is a small city on the Maumee River just west of Toledo, Ohio, and plenty of its people stay put for life or come back after years away. A Maumee shirt does the job a local flag would do: it tells the people who know, and the ones who don't, where you're from. It suits the teen who's heading off to college and wants something from home in the dorm, the parent who grew up here and still follows the high school sports, or the cousin who moved to Florida and misses the Ohio winters. Since it's a city that many people describe by their neighborhood or their school district, a second line works well: the street, the school year, or the graduating class. A hoodie is the warm choice for a cold Lake Erie morning, and a mug fits the kitchen of someone who always talks about home.
