About this software engineering director gift
A software engineering director usually spends less time writing code than they used to and more time in planning meetings, one-on-ones, roadmap reviews and the occasional production incident call. They often came up through engineering, so they know what a good sprint feels like and what it costs the team when a deadline slips. A gift that acknowledges that path lands well: a tee for the weekend when they're finally away from the laptop, a hoodie for the cold office or the long flight to another site, or a mug for the first coffee before the calendar fills up. Make it theirs by adding a second line, such as their name, their team or the year they took the role, so it reads as personal rather than a generic tech shirt. If you're buying for a whole leadership group or a team that celebrates their director, the Team Shop lets you put one design on everyone's shirt with their own name. Pick a time that isn't a crunch week, since a gift for someone who has been running release after release is more likely to be appreciated when they can actually sit down with it.
