About this upper lake gift
Upper Lake is a small town, and people who grew up there tend to stay attached to it, even after they've moved on. A shirt with the town name is how they claim it at a reunion, at a county fair or on a long drive past the lake. Many people from small towns feel their place is overlooked, so a hometown design can say something a generic shirt can't. Think about who's getting the gift: someone who left for college or work and still checks the local news, a grandparent who has never left, or a new baby being welcomed into the town's story. A hoodie works well for cold-weather visits home, and a mug suits the kitchen table where everyone talks about the old days. Adding a year, the school class, or a street or nickname in the second line makes it theirs in a way the town name alone doesn't.
