About this art gallery internship gift
An art gallery internship is usually unpaid or low-paid, long on hanging shows, writing wall labels, and answering the phone, and short on glamour. The person doing it is often taking the bus to a gallery across town on a Saturday, learning how a show gets installed, and quietly deciding whether this world is really theirs. A gift that acknowledges that effort lands well. A soft tee for the days spent crating and unpacking artwork, a hoodie for the chilly gallery back office, or a mug for the early mornings before opening all say you noticed the work. Add the gallery's name or the season of the internship as a second line if you know it, so the shirt reads as theirs and not a generic arts shirt. The internship is a stepping stone, so a gift that feels like the start of a career rather than a reward for a summer can mean more.
