About this counselor supervisor gift
A counselor supervisor usually started out doing the front-line work: sitting with clients, writing notes, handling the hard calls, and then picking up the extra load of training newer counselors and signing off on their cases. That shift from doing the work to keeping the team steady is real, and a gift that acknowledges it tends to land better than a generic job shirt. Think about the long meetings, the case reviews that run late, and the coffee that goes cold while they're listening to someone else's crisis. A hoodie for the office that's always a few degrees too cold, or a mug for the desk where they do their reviews, gives them something of their own. Put their title on it, add the year they stepped into the role, or add the name of the program or agency they lead. Once the wording is theirs, the gift stops being a job souvenir and starts sounding like someone who noticed.
