About this custody officer gift
A custody officer usually works in a police station, deciding who stays in a cell, who gets a solicitor, and who needs medical attention, often during a long night shift. The gifts that land with someone doing that work tend to be practical and a little bit wry: something soft for the drive home after a double, a hoodie for the chilly custody suite, a mug that's clearly theirs so it doesn't wander off the back of the desk. Putting their role on the shirt shows you understand what they actually do, which is a different thing from a generic police-themed tee. Add a second line for their force, their station or their rank if you know it, and the design becomes theirs. If you're shopping for a whole team, one design with each officer's name on their own shirt is a better leaving or thank-you gift than another round of biscuits.
