About this director residency gift
A residency director is the person who keeps a training program running: scheduling rotations, sitting in on evaluations, fielding calls from residents who are exhausted and from attendings who want something done yesterday. Most of the work happens behind the scenes, and the gifts that land tend to acknowledge that. A soft tee they can wear to clinic on a long day, a hoodie for the cold early mornings, or a mug for the office coffee that gets reheated three times before it's finished. Adding the program name or specialty on a second line makes the gift theirs rather than generic. If you're buying for someone who leads a whole program, the Team Shop lets you order one design with each coordinator's or faculty member's name, which is a nice way to thank the people who keep the program going. Program anniversaries and the end of an academic year are natural times to give something.
