About this image archivist gift
An image archivist looks after collections of photographs, slides, negatives and digital files, deciding what gets catalogued, preserved and made findable for researchers, curators and the public. Much of the work is quiet and meticulous: checking metadata, handling fragile prints with gloves, and planning for file formats that may not exist in twenty years. Gifts that land tend to honor that patience. A tee or hoodie with their title shows you understand what they do, and adding the institution or a second line for their specialty, such as photographs, slides or digital collections, makes it personal. For a sweater-weather colleague who spends long afternoons in cool, dim storage rooms, a warm hoodie is practical. A mug suits the desk where they cross-check a dozen captions before lunch. Type their exact title into the text box and the preview shows you how it sits before you order.
