About this interpreter for the deaf gift
Sign language interpreters work in hospitals, classrooms, courtrooms and at the back of a stage, often moving between two languages and two worlds in the same hour. They're on their feet for long stretches, they carry a lot of focus, and they usually go home tired from concentrating. The gifts they tend to keep are the ones that acknowledge the craft without making a fuss about it. A soft tee for the drive to a long assignment, a hoodie for a cold school gym or a community center, a mug for the early morning coffee before the first call of the day. You can make the item theirs by putting the profession on it, and if they work in a particular setting, like medical or education, you can add that on a second line. It reads as respect for the job, which is what most interpreters want to hear.
All interpreter for the deaf gifts →- A tee for the work bagInterpreter for the Deaf on a soft tee works for the days they're on site and the days they're just running errands in it.
- A hoodie for cold assignmentsInterpreters often sit still in chilly rooms, so a warm hoodie with their profession on it is useful and personal.
- A mug for the first callAn 11 oz mug with the profession on it marks the start of the day for someone who spends it communicating for others.
- A kids tee for a family memberIf a child in the family is learning sign language, a kids tee with interpreter on it can start a conversation about what their relative does.
