About this shaffer gift
Shaffer is a name that tends to show up in family trees, and the people who carry it often have a story about spelling it for strangers, or hearing it mangled at the DMV. A shirt with the name on it is a small way of saying that the family is real and worth claiming. It suits a family reunion, where cousins can find each other across a crowded lawn, or a new baby who inherits the name and will someday wear a onesie with it. Shaffer on a hoodie works for the cold-weather family gathering, and a mug with the name suits the grandparents' kitchen, where the family tends to end up anyway. Because the name carries a lot of family history, a little personal detail goes a long way: add the reunion year, a town, or a branch of the family in the second line, and the design stops being generic and starts being theirs.
