About this slide guitar gift
Slide guitar players are a particular kind of musician. They tune to open chords, lay a metal bar or glass tube across the strings, and make the guitar sound like a voice that's crying or laughing, usually both. The people who play it often come up through blues, country, or Hawaiian steel traditions, and they tend to have strong opinions about tunings and which bottleneck sounds best. A gift for one of them should sound like they do. Put the words slide guitar on a shirt for the gig, a hoodie for the late drive home from a session, or a mug for the morning coffee before they practice. If they play open G or open D, you can add that tuning as a second line, since it's the detail other players will notice first. A shirt with their name under slide guitar makes it theirs, and it's easy to wear to a jam.
