About this structural biologist gift
Structural biologists spend their days working out the three-dimensional shape of proteins and other molecules, often by staring at crystal diffraction patterns or cryo-EM density maps until the structure finally clicks into place. Their work is slow, careful and frequently frustrating, which makes a gift that acknowledges the craft land well. A tee with their title on it works for lab days and conference hallways alike, and a dark shirt suits the person who lives in black. Hoodies are a natural fit for the cold cryo-EM suite or the long drive home after a beamline run. A mug is the easiest daily reminder that they're the one who actually sees the molecule. You can add a second line for their lab, their institution or the year they started their PhD, so the design reads as theirs rather than a generic science shirt. If the gift is for a colleague or a whole research group, the Team Shop lets you put one design on everyone's shirt with their own name.
All structural biologist gifts →- A hoodie for the cold labStructural work often means long hours in cold rooms and dim imaging suites, and a hoodie with their title keeps them warm through it.
- A mug for the benchAn 11 oz mug with their title and name is the everyday coffee companion that sits next to the microscope or workstation.
- Matching tees for the whole labChoose one design in the Team Shop, paste the names of the group, and everyone gets a shirt with their own name on it.
- A dark tee for the conferenceA dark shirt with their title looks sharp at poster sessions and dinners, and it's a conversation starter with other researchers.
