About this astoria gift
Astoria is a small city on the Oregon side of the Columbia River, where the river meets the Pacific and the air is cold, damp and salty most of the year. People who grew up there, or who moved away for work or school and kept calling it home, tend to feel that pull hard. A shirt with Astoria on it is a way to carry the place around: for a visit back, for a stroll down the waterfront, or just for the morning commute somewhere far from the coast. Because the town is small, the people who live there tend to know each other, so a shirt that picks out a detail only a local would notice lands especially well. A mug suits the one who misses the fog and the seafood, and a hoodie is the right gift for someone who will be grateful for warmth on a windy coastal day. Type a street, a school, or the year they left into the second line to make it theirs.
