About this grounds worker gift
Grounds workers keep the outdoor spaces people take for granted running: mowing and edging, trimming hedges, raking leaves in the fall, clearing snow before dawn, and making sure ball fields and parks are ready for the weekend. Most of their day is outside, in heat, cold or rain, and much of the work goes unnoticed until it's missing. A gift for someone in this line of work should acknowledge that. A soft tee for the drive home, a hoodie for the early-morning cold, or a mug for the thermos of coffee before the first crew call all fit the reality of the job. Add their title or the name of their crew or employer's grounds department, if they want it, and the shirt becomes theirs rather than a generic work tee. Putting their name on it is a simple way to show you noticed the work they do.
