About this housatonic gift
Housatonic is a small town in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, a river village where most people know each other and the local roads are part of the story. A shirt with the town name is the kind of thing someone wears to the post office, a high school game, or a family reunion held in the valley, and it reads as belonging rather than tourism. Because the name is less familiar than Boston or Chicago, a bit of context helps: a second line with the town's county or a year can make it personal. Someone who grew up there, or who moved away and still calls it home, will notice that you took the trouble to get the name right. A hoodie suits the cold months in the hills, and a mug works well for the kitchen of someone who still checks the weather back home each morning.
