About this mayfly gift
Mayflies are one of the oldest winged insects on Earth, and the adults live for only a day or two. Their short life is spent almost entirely on the wing, rising off lakes and rivers in great clouds, mating and laying eggs before they die. Anyone who loves mayflies usually loves them for that strangeness: they are fishing bait, a clue to clean water, and a reminder to make the most of a short season. A gift for a mayfly person should feel like that. A tee or hoodie with the word on it works for a day on the water or a summer at the lake, and a mug fits the early-morning coffee before a dawn hatch. Add a second line with a river, a lake, or a fly pattern they tie, and the shirt becomes theirs.
