About this policy director gift
A policy director usually spends their days in meetings, drafting memos, and tracking bills or regulations that most people never hear about. Their work is long-horizon and often invisible, so the gifts that land tend to be small, honest jokes about the job plus something comfortable for the long stretches at a desk. A soft tee for a weekend, a hoodie for the cold conference room, or a mug that's clearly theirs for the coffee that goes cold while they're on a call. Putting their title on it makes the gift personal instead of generic, and a second line can add a team, an agency, or a year of service if you know it. The best version is the one that acknowledges what the job actually takes: patience, a lot of reading, and the ability to explain a complicated idea to people who didn't ask for it.
