About this research instructor gift
A research instructor spends the day moving between the lab, the lecture hall and a stack of grading that never shrinks, often while trying to get a grant proposal out the door. They're the person who explains a hard method to a room of nervous students and then stays late to help one of them rerun an analysis. A gift that fits that life is something they'll wear to the department meeting or sip from while reviewing methods sections. Put their title on it, add the field or course they teach if you know it, and the shirt stops being generic academic merch and becomes theirs. Mugs work well for the office, where coffee and research tend to happen at the same desk. If you're buying for a whole lab or program, one design with each person's name can make a nice thank-you for a long semester.
