About this velva gift
Velva is a small city in North Dakota, and most of the people who live there know each other by name. Someone who grew up in Velva, or moved away and still calls it home, tends to wear their hometown on a sleeve without thinking about it. A shirt with Velva on the front is how they say where they're from at a county fair, a college campus or a family reunion across the state. Small towns also have a particular kind of pride that doesn't need explaining, so a simple design often lands better than something busy. Add the year they graduated from high school, or the street they grew up on, and the shirt becomes a memory as well as a town name. For the one who left and misses it, a Velva mug on the kitchen counter is a daily reminder of where the good stuff started.
