Picking a gift for a photographer assistant
A photographer's assistant is the person who shows up before the shoot and stays after it, hauling light stands, managing batteries, holding reflectors in the wind and keeping track of a dozen memory cards. They rarely get their name on the final images, so a gift that acknowledges the work behind the work tends to land well. Think about the long days on location, the cold mornings and the gear bags that never get lighter. A tee or hoodie with their title on it is a nod to all of that, and it's something they can wear on set, where crew shirts are common. Add a second line with the studio name, the type of shoot they usually work, or the year they started, and it becomes specific to them rather than a generic job shirt. For a daily reminder, a mug works well in a car or studio kitchen where coffee is a constant.
Photographer Assistant gift questions
What does a photographer assistant do?
They support the photographer on shoots by setting up and managing lights, stands and reflectors, handling equipment, keeping track of cards and batteries, and helping with the flow of the session. The role varies by studio and genre, so their daily work may look different from one job to the next.
Can I add their studio or a second line of text?
Many designs have a second line. Type a studio name, a year or a specialty there and check the preview before you order.
Are there designs for kids or babies?
There are a few kids tees and a baby onesie that use this title, though options are limited compared with adult styles.
Is this a good gift for someone just starting out in the field?
Yes. A new assistant often wants to show they're serious about the work, and a shirt or mug with their title is a small, practical way to mark the start of their career.
What sizes do the photographer assistant shirts come in?
Adult tees come in S to 3XL. Hoodies, kids tees and onesies list their own sizes on each product page.
How long does a photographer assistant gift take to arrive?
Each order is printed after you place it, in 2 to 4 business days, then ships by ground in 3 to 5 business days. The product page shows the delivery window for today's orders.
What if the print has a mistake?
If we print something different from the preview you approved, or it arrives damaged, we reprint it free.
