Gifts for people into writing
Writers keep strange hours and stranger tools: a notebook with a cracked spine, a laptop covered in stickers, a mug that's been refilled since the first draft. Anyone who writes, whether it's novels, poetry, fan fiction or a journal nobody else will read, tends to care about the small rituals around it. That's where a gift lands. A hoodie for the late-night session, a mug that stays on the desk next to the keyboard, a tee they can wear to a library reading or a writing group meetup. The best gifts say you've noticed they actually do this, not just that they like books. Make it theirs by typing in their genre, a pen name, or a line about their current project. A second line can hold a word count goal or the year they finished their first manuscript. November is the busy season, since plenty of people take on a 50,000-word novel challenge, and a finished draft is always worth marking with something wearable.
Writing gift questions
Can I put a pen name or book title on a writing design?
Yes. Type it into the text box and the preview updates right away. Many designs also have a second line, which works well for a title, a genre or a word count goal.
What's a good gift for someone writing their first book?
A hoodie or mug with the working title or the year they started. It's encouraging without being pushy, and it'll still mean something once the draft is done.
Can I change the word to a specific kind of writing?
Yes. Swap Writing for Poetry, Novelist, Screenwriter or whatever fits them. Any word you type will update across the designs.
Are there writing designs for kids?
Yes. There are kids tees in both light and dark colors. They're a nice nudge for a young storyteller, and you can add their name on the second line.
What sizes do the writing shirts come in?
Adult tees come in S to 3XL. Hoodies, kids tees and onesies list their own sizes on each product page.
How long does a writing gift take to arrive?
Each order is printed after you place it, in 2 to 4 business days, then ships by ground in 3 to 5 business days. The product page shows the delivery window for today's orders.
What if the print has a mistake?
If we print something different from the preview you approved, or it arrives damaged, we reprint it free.
Writing gift ideas
- A mug for the writing deskAn 11 oz mug with Writing and their pen name or genre on it will sit beside the keyboard through every draft and revision.
- A hoodie for long editing nightsPick a hoodie design and add the title of the book they're working on. It's warm enough for a cold room and a deadline.
- A tee for the writing groupPut the name of their critique group or workshop on a T-shirt, and order one for each member if the group is small.
- A first-draft celebration shirtAdd the year they finished their manuscript to a light or dark tee, so the milestone stays on a shirt they'll actually wear.
