About this mechanicstown gift
Mechanicstown is a small place name, and a shirt with it on the front usually goes to someone who grew up there or still calls it home. A town that size runs on people who know each other: the diner regulars, the volunteer fire crew, the kids who grew up in the same few streets. A Mechanicstown shirt is how they say where they're from without a long explanation, and it works just as well for the relative who moved away and misses the place. Because the name is short, the design has room for one more line. Add the street, the school, the year they left or the year they moved back, and it becomes a shirt about their particular Mechanicstown. For a transplant, a mug with the town name is a daily reminder of where they came from, and a hoodie is the warm choice for anyone whose hometown gets cold.
