About this research tech gift
A research tech is the person who keeps a lab running: prepping samples, calibrating equipment, logging data at odd hours, and quietly fixing the freezer before anyone notices it's warming up. The job is detail-heavy and often unseen, so the gifts that land are the ones that acknowledge that work. A soft tee for the bench, a hoodie for the chilly cold room, or a mug for the first coffee before the day's protocols start. Put their lab, institution or specialty on the second line if you know it, and the shirt becomes theirs rather than a generic science joke. If you're buying for a whole lab team, the Team Shop lets you pick one design and paste each person's name, so everyone gets a shirt with their own name on it. Research techs often have less recognition than the PIs whose names end up on papers, so a gift with their own name on it tends to mean more than it first appears.
