About this oriental gift
Oriental is a word that a lot of people now hear as dated or loaded, and it's worth knowing that before you order anything with it. Some people use it for a specific place name, a town or a neighborhood with that name, and in that case a shirt can read as a plain hometown tribute. Others will read it as a label for people, which is often not what people mean by the place, so the safest move is to check what the word means to the person you're buying for. If they already use the name for their town or their part of the world, a tee or mug with it can work, and a second line with the year they moved or the street they grew up on makes it feel personal. If you're unsure how they feel about the word, a design with a different city or neighborhood they actually love will land better than a guess.
All oriental gifts →- A tee for their hometownIf Oriental is the name of the place they call home, put it on a tee with a second line for the street or the year they moved there.
- A mug with the place they knowAn 11oz mug with the town name is a daily reminder of where they're from, if the name fits their own use of it.
- A hoodie for the cold monthsA hoodie with the place name works well for someone who's proud of where they grew up and wears it through the winter.
