About this acquisition editor gift
An acquisition editor spends the day reading what other people wrote, deciding what deserves to become a book, and then fighting for it in meetings the author never sees. It's a job built on taste, stamina and a very large stack of manuscripts. The gifts that land are the ones that nod to that: a mug big enough for a long afternoon of reading, a soft tee or hoodie for the commute and the weekend manuscript pile, something that says what they do without sounding like a conference badge. Type acquisition editor as it is, or change the line to their imprint's genre: Cookbooks, Romance, Nonfiction, Children's. Add their name or the year they signed their first book and it becomes theirs. If you're buying for an editorial team, the Team Shop lets everyone get the same design with their own name. Good moments to give one include a promotion, a first book on the bestseller list, or a new job at a new house.
All acquisition editor gifts →- A mug for the manuscript pileAn 11oz mug with acquisition editor and their name suits a desk that's always covered in pages. Add a second line with their genre if the design has one.
- A hoodie for the weekend readAcquisition editors take work home, so a hoodie for the couch with a stack of submissions is used more than almost anything else. Put their imprint's category or the year they started on it.
- A tee for a first big signingWhen an editor lands their first major acquisition, a tee with the title and a date marks it. Change the second line to the book's genre or the year.
- Matching shirts for the editorial teamChoose one design in the Team Shop and paste everyone's names. Each person gets their own size, which beats guessing for a whole department.
