About this activities assistant gift
An activities assistant is the person who makes the day worth getting up for. They run the bingo game, set up the craft table, wheel someone out to the garden, and remember that Mr. Alvarez likes the crossword read aloud. It's work built on patience, good humor and a steady supply of markers, balloons and tape. The gifts that land with them are comfortable and a little bit fun, because they're on their feet and moving from room to room all day. A tee with their title and the name of the community they work in makes a good everyday shirt. If you want it to feel like theirs, add a favorite activity, a nickname the residents use, or the year they started. For a department, a care center or an assisted living team, you can order matching shirts with each person's name. National Activity Professionals Week is in January, and it's a good moment to say thanks.
