About this mattapan gift
Mattapan is a small neighborhood in Boston's Hyde Park area, and people who grew up there tend to hold onto it hard, even after they've moved out. A Mattapan shirt is a way to say where you're from without having to explain it. It works for the person who came back for the holidays, the one who still gets the bus down Blue Hill Avenue to visit family, or anyone whose whole childhood runs through that part of the city. Since the neighborhood is small and specific, the name itself is the point. Put it front and center, and use the second line for a street, a school or a graduation year if that fits their story. A hoodie suits a college student heading back to school, and a mug is the easy gift for the homesick transplant who still keeps their Boston pride on the kitchen counter.
