About this trumpeter gift
A trumpeter spends a lot of time with a horn in their face and a practice room that's too small, and a gift that acknowledges the work of it lands well. Think about the rehearsals, the long holds at the end of a symphony, the marching band that only gets noticed when it goes wrong, the late-night gig where the lips are tired but the set isn't over. Trumpet players tend to be a little proud of their instrument and a little self-deprecating about the cracked note that everyone heard. A shirt or mug with the word trumpeter on it says you see that. Add their section, their band or ensemble name, or the instrument's key if they play a B-flat, and it stops being a generic music shirt and becomes theirs. Many trumpeters also teach, so a mug for the studio or a hoodie for the cold walk to a rehearsal hall can be just as welcome as a stage tee.
